Bread: home made bread - testing


I had make bread long time ago. It is about 13 years ago when my mom bought a bread maker. And I am the only one who interested to touch the maker. After sometimes, start getting bored on it coz not much reference at that time. My mom remind me that we have a bread maker at home. I use to tell her, may be one day will try make bread with different recipe... yep... I make it today, use the bread maker =) A good starting point.

This is a easy egg tart recipe that I have try. It is just as simple as it look - bake once. There are few type of recipes. Some of the recipe with pre bake the pastry first. This recipe is combine the filling and the pastry togather which save your time especially for beginner who are not able to control the oven time. I get this recipe from "黑妈妈的祖传蛋挞" share by Mikiko.
As I have some extra pastry, I have additional bake some pineapple tarts. I use the pineapple jam from my regrigerator. It is very nice as you can get 2 type of tarts for one time deal task!

A meal at home: 3 dishes without soup




I came to cook myself recently due to some personal reason. Learning that it is not easy to be a full housewife. Cooking is part of the routine job and it may become challenge when talk about nutritious, economical and delicious. It is not easy to cook the food at that delicious and have to creative in order to prevent get bored on the taste.
I get these 3 dishes recipes from "3 plus 1" book. It is a good book especially for beginner as the intruction really as simple as 3 plus 1. Thumb up!!

Miss: My first cooking


This is the first time I step in my kitchen and prepare the lunch and dinner for myself after my confinement. Very nervous because I am super outlier interm of kitchen knowledge. I need sometime to digest the method and ingredient during prepare a dish. With my little imagination, finally I success to prepare some simple lunch and dinner for myself. The taste is not too bad, at least fill my hungry stomach. Thanks to have this oppotunity/free time to enjoy the kitchen fun.

My daughter: "Aunty's cook one is more delicious, mummy's one not nice".
My husband: "no commet".

One afternoon, I received a call from my husband. He said:" How about we take our dinner at mother home, today?" ...Finally, he surenndered ... >"<

Cookies: Almond flake cookies



This is one of my favourite cookies. Yummy ^_^ It is taste good but a bit sweet.

Ingredients:
(A)
Butter 125g
castor sugar 125g
egg 1 nos
lemon zest 1 tsp
plain flour 200g
baking powder 1 tsp

(B)
butter 100g
castor sugar 100g
brown sugar 2 tbsp
milk 2 tbsp
 almond flake 250g

Method:
B1. Double boil butter(B) until melt and add in castor sugar, brown sugar and milk.
After that, remove from heat and add in almond flake.

A1. Whip sugar(A) and butter until light and fluffy. Add in egg and lemon zest and well mix.
Add in plain flour and baking power and well mix.

Pour it (A1) into a greased and lined square mould (23 cm).

Cover the top cake with B1.

Bake at 180 oC for 35 minutes. Remove the cake immediately when baked and cut into cube.

Penang food: Crab claypot rice


Something may need to try, crab claypot rice at Bukit Tambun. I came to this restaurant during CNY and a lot of people there. We wait for around 30 minutes for our order. The taste was good, the crab was fresh and big. Highly recomended to have a try.

Cake: Durian butter cake



I plan to try another new durian recipe. Finally decide to make a durian butter cake, recipe by Wokkingmum. Thanks for her good sharing.

Ingredients:
250 gm butter
150 gm castor sugar
5 eggs
170-200g durian mash
240 gm flour + 2 tsp baking powder + pinch of salt (sifted)
2 tsbp milk

Method:
  1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in egg one by one and continue beating
  3. Add in durian mash and mix until well combined
  4. Add in flour and baking powder, mix until well combine
  5. Heat oven to 200deg Celsius and line the cake tin.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes. Done!
